Chai has dedicated his professional life to the health and social care sector. Combining a career in medicine with expertise in investment management Chai has built and developed a number of successful businesses in the health and social care sector.
Since 2007 his achievements in health and social care have come largely through the turnaround business, Court Cavendish. Court Cavendish has a simple mission; to turn health and social care organisations back to profit and also back to delivering exemplary care. Since 2007, Chai has worked been driven in all aspects of his professional life to ensure the best results for residents, staff and investors.
Working in an increasingly challenging and complex sector Chai’s expertise derives from working with residents, service users and their families, local authorities, health teams, regulators and government. The end goal is to achieve exceptional results for businesses and investors.
In 2011 Chai and Court Cavendish embarked on their biggest challenge to date – saving Southern Cross from collapse. In just over 90 days HC-One was formed. The failing Southern Cross business was transformed. Thousands of residents were saved from homelessness. Chai and his team built a brand focused on being the most caring operator in the country. HC-One returned to profitability and has become the leading provider in Britain.
Careful investment management and market leading knowledge has helped achieve tangible improvements and sustainable turnarounds. 2018 saw Court Cavendish deliver one of the most significant turnarounds in British healthcare history with the sale of Care Management Group (CMG) to AMP Capital. This sale represented a significant return on investment for our investors.
