The Silver Line HC-One is extremely proud to announce that they are founding partners of The Silver Line charity, which was founded by British Journalist and Television Presenter, Esther Rantzen CBE. Dr Chai Patel, HC-One Chairman, has a long history of philanthropy and has embedded his charitable spirit into HC-One’s philosophy and values, to provide the kindest care for Residents.
The HC-One Foundation has donated £150,000, to The Silver Line, as the charity’s only founding partner from the care sector. HC-One is dedicated to providing the kindest care for each Resident and developing each home’s relationship with their local community. We are proud to support The Silver Line, as the charity is specifically for older people, and provides them with a support network, and a friendly voice to talk to. The Silver Line was founded in November 2012 by Esther Rantzen, with the motto; ‘No question too big, no problem too small, no need to be alone’.
The Silver Line is a free and confidential helpline for older people (The Silver Generation) and provides information, friendship and advice. The helpline is open 24 hours a day, every day of the year and can connect callers to local groups and services within their community. It also provides support and protection in cases of abuse and neglect. Esther created the helpline as she believed it would be a liberating link for older people who may feel isolated. Our sponsorship will fund the important work that The Silver Line carryout to support older people who may feel lonely. The Silver Line charity will also evaluate its services and collate reports and briefing papers on callers’ key issues, this is useful as it will inform and influence the Government policy for older people. HC-One’s sponsorship of The Silver Line builds on their ethos and message to support each Resident in the best and kindest way possible, developing strong links between homes and their local community.
Speaking about the Silver line Charity, Esther Rantzen CBE said; “The reality is that older people should be valued as a tremendous asset to society. No-one should feel isolated and vulnerable,and it is the nation’s responsibility to make older people feel valued, to include them, empower them, and connect them with their communities. This is what we hope The Silver Line will achieve.”
